Written in the Stars: All You Need to Know About the New Moon in Virgo

To say that 2020 has been a WILD ride is an absolute understatement, but we’re hanging in here nonetheless. With the forced stillness of the new year, many have been able to dive deeper into spirituality and astrology alike. One of our favorite Astrologers, Shawnte Cato, filled us in on how this New Moon in Virgo will affect us.

A+P: Mars is currently in Retrograde in Aries and that has been shaking things up while bringing others to light. When is the New Moon in Virgo and what does this mean?

S: This New Moon in Virgo takes place September 17-19th and will most affect mutable signs which includes Gemini, Pisces, Sagittarius, and Virgo. During this time, people may be more critical or even stressed during this Moon cycle. Virgo is a sign that is very analytical and detail oriented so this could put many on edge, particularly if they haven’t been about certain themes in their lives.

A+P: How should we prepare for this New Moon? Is there anything in particular we should pay attention to?

S: This is a great time to set intentions around diet, fitness, budgeting and cleanliness. As far as rituals are concerned, I would set out to get things in order.

A+P: This New Moon in Virgo Ironically takes place during Virgo season. What exactly does that mean?

S: New Moons in astrology happen when the sun and moon are in conjunction within a sign. This means that they are sitting next to each other in the sky and thus, working together to illuminate the focus of the sign they’re moving towards.

A+P: How will this New Moon influence our careers and partnerships, if at all?

S: This isn’t the moon to focus on partnerships so much as Attention should definitely be paid to one’s career, physical health, and patterns that help optimize our life development.
