A Change of Scenery--Beating the WFH Blues

Since the great reset that was Covid-19, some of us began working from home—an option some of us never even knew was an option. though COVID is still prevalent four years later, some of us have chosen or been sequestered back into our offices while others of us are still working from home. on a personal note, working from home has been a blessing. I’ve been able to restructure my morning routine for my benefit, take better care of my health, and see my friends and family more after years of missing milestone moments due to work. Four years later, I am still in the field and still work from home so it’s a bit of a 50/50. Though working from home is a blessing, one could go a bit stir-crazy and get cabin fever so how can I be on the clock and vacation? We’ve mastered the art of being on a laptop while in a bikini via Resort Pass.

I discovered Resort Pass when looking for a day pass to head to a pool while working. I’d felt like my routine had become monotonous and while I love my local PJ’s for the iced matchas and beignets, I’m a creative in a creative field and need inspiration. Resort Pass allows you to enjoy the pool, gym, spa, and restaurants at beautiful local hotels in your area for a fraction of the price. There’s beauty in taking a Zoom meeting and splashing around in a pool thirty minutes later. There’s ease in sending out or scheduling your emails for the day and enjoying a great book and cocktail as soon as you close your laptop. Also, who says you have to do this solo? Grab your bestie who works from home and make it a co-working space for the day!

Collectively, I believe we’re in a new chapter. One that says we don’t need to earn rest, we are embracing breaks, and we are putting our health and mental health above all else. Whether you’re creative or not, the best ideas and optimal productivity comes when you aren’t in survival mode. Grab your laptop and book your day pass, babe.
